The Elizabeth Bay House was once considered as the "the finest house in the colony". Built between 1835 and 1839, the house was built for Alexander Macleay. With its beautiful staircase, heavy wooden doors and cool stone cellars in the kitchen, this villa is a must for those who enjoy the architecture of the 1830s.

Close to the house is a small park that was once the estate's garden and is worth a visit. The Elizabeth Bay House is opened from 10am to 4.30pm on Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Monday and Christmas Day. Cost: adults ($5), children ($2), family of four ($12)
